#JBL BAR 9.1 MOVIE#
If I watch a dolby atmos movie after playing a dolby surround multi ch pcm movie on Netflix, it instantly converts to a dolby atmos pcm.
#JBL BAR 9.1 PS4#
My case, I changed HDMI cable ( PS4 genius cable), problems dissappeared. Sudden mute (I need to change arc in TV setup, or power plug out of Sound bar).Bar mode change is long delayed Between surround multi ch pcm and dolby Atmos multi channel pcm.

and this helps to people who have problems like me. Just I would like to let you know my cases. Maybe in the future they will ship with a different cable as the returns route seems excessive and a disappointment and unlikely to fix the issue of you get a new one. The JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar might be expensive, but it delivers powerful, thunderous audio with detachable rear channels for an immersive listening experience. They didn't acknowledge that and said if problem persists I might have to send it back. I told Harmen there were loads of people with this issue and even pasted in this reddit feed to the correspondace. It says premium high speed with ethernet on it. Not sure of its spec as it came with my recent AOC monitor purchase. In the end Im pretty sure my cable change fixed the issue. (note on a Sony there are advanced sound settings for dolby dynamic range and HE-AAC dynamic range. Changing these for me didn't seem to change anything. Avoid all TV special audio features and setting etc. They suggested a few things, namely don't use audio compression from any TV setting and use PCM sound. Even if they had been off for hours, they always worked on the same day of power in and out! Strange. I say this as once the power was pulled in and out of soundbar, I wouldn't get the same problem again untill at least the next day. As if some sort of long term standy would kick in and connection would drop. It seemed to happen after the TV and soundbar had been off for an extended period. Power in and out of sound bar was only fix. (I have 4k Sony Bravia with standard ARC) The TV remote would control soundbar volume so I know they were talking, but no sound.

#JBL BAR 9.1 UPDATE#
No problems for the first month or two but then since a software update the sound would on occasion not play audio via TV. Hi, I have had the 9.1 for about 6 months.
